Anais Nin says, “We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations”.
Until we accept this beautiful progression as a human as one of chaos, of shadow and light, with a deeper soul story, we cannot even know in this realm, we cannot truly know peace. In order to be truly present to each moment, we must allow all the other moments to exist without our needing to create a narrative around them. In order to have peace in our hearts, we must relinquish control. We must admit, we have absolutely no idea what’s really going on, but we willingly are going for the ride anyway. We must strap ourselves in, for whatever the universe throws at us, as each experience is the exact unique medicine we need for our souls if only we would open our mouths for it…
