How will you hold your awareness this week? Scattered or as something sacred? Fractured, or utterly focussed on the present?
When we feel overwhelmed, or fatigued, or frankly, flat as so many do right at this moment, the trap of distraction becomes so easy to fall into. The search for satisfaction, anything but an uncomfortable feeling, dominates. So we pick up our phones, we flick through Netflix, and Hulu, and Binge, and Stan and on and on for something to take our attention. We skim books. We flick through social media. Check the news. And then again.
Any of these things can be done with presence. It’s not the action itself, but the approach. Norman Fischer says to wonderfully, ‘Do I move into this moment of meeting, or do I shrink away from it because it may require too much of me?’.
How will you meet every single moment of this life of yours?
I hope you keep meditating, expanding, and creating,
