Tim Ferris says “Life punishes the vague wish and rewards the specific ask. After all, conscious thinking is largely asking and answering questions in your own head. If you want confusion and heartache, ask vague questions. If you want uncommon clarity and results, ask uncommonly clear questions.”
I very much like this quote of Tim’s. It leads us to ask what uncommonly clear question do I have to pose right now, in order to get uncommon results. Where am I being vague? Where also am I not doing my part? One of my favourite little jokes is; a man prays every morning and night and begs of God to please please help him win the lottery. He does this pleadingly every day for a year. After a year God’s voice booms down to him and says, ‘for heaven’s sake will you buy a bloody lottery ticket!!!!’ It reminds us that being specific in our asking AND taking the first steps and contributing our part is just as important. How can this inform some action for you this week?
