The Buddha spoke that every being has the capacity for enlightenment and as everything is connected, every single being has the connection to Buddha nature. Buddha nature I view as the most connected, universal nature, of compassion and love and kindness.
I have read lots of iterations of this quote and each time I am struck with its power, and then in truth quickly forget it. We forget that we are love, that we are the whole universe and we get so caught up in our day to day living. Not in a present moment way, but in a tight, contracted panicky way.
Returning from a huge teaching trip in London to Sydney where I have what feels like a million balls in the air, I can feel the contraction in my body and mind. And I think this is the key thing, we simply forget that we can connect to the universal energy at all times. This doesn’t mean throw it all away as we are simply Buddha so what does anything matter. It means that it ALL matters, all the time, through the whole of the universe. If we can remember that and bring that energy to all that we do, then the expansion grows and the contractions melts.
