I am in awe of Nature. All things about it I love. I come at it from a lay-persons view which means I don’t understand it in any deep scientific way, only through what I observe and experience.
It hasn’t always been that way, my recognition and admiration have ebbed and flowed. My early years were generously immersed in nature – growing up with paddocks, trees, lakes, orchards, and animals as my playground until a shift in space and family dynamics eventually meant city life and a long captivation with the intellect. This led to a falling out of touch with the natural world around and within me.
It has only been the past few years that I have slowly come back to be aware of and explore the vibrant, wonderful world that surrounds us. My appreciation has come full circle. The more I check Nature out the more it delivers.
Consider the rhythms and patterns that can be found – the wisdom of the seasons alone is enough to offer us guidance – imagining that Winter encourages a slower, more considered pace of life, a time for reflection, editing and sharing. Whereas, Spring, a time for creation and nurturing – new beginnings and the brightness of possibilities. The cycle of life, played out over and over again. I see this in my work projects, my relationships with friends, family and colleagues, ingrained in my day to day-ness.
Nature has a vision, it sets boundaries, it innovates, creates, removes and edits. It keeps moving, being the best it can be in that moment. Its design, aesthetics, colours, and textures could endlessly decorate any room, any person, any wall, anything, anywhere.
The unique, individual expressions of nature that are also so clearly connected, working together as one and yet shining with their own participation.
The sheer joy and magic that nature delivers in every moment offers us inspiration and comfort, beauty and warning. If you’re ever stuck, out of flow, needing a clue, support is close by, look deep in to nature and see what she would do. Oh Nature, I am in awe of you.
Love,
