I am this week studying a miniature Indian Mughal painting course, that is fascinating and incredible. The tutors have been flown out from India and have been miniature painters for over 35 years each. Whenever someone is struggling within the course, the main teacher smiles sweetly and says, ‘Yes all is good, just connect to God’.
Whether you believe in God or not, is totally irrelevant. What he’s highlighting is that creativity requires patience. And creativity is a flow state that is more than what our little minds can generate on their own. We must connect to something higher than us.
So whether you call it the divine, the universe, nature, the Tao, Buddha mind, God, your higher self, doesn’t matter in the end. But sweetly asking for help from an energy more universal than our small minds and aligning to that creative energy, is a wonderful way to not just be more creative, but to move through the world at all times.
