The Tao Te Ching for me highlights the eternal mystery and connection to everything we have in the world. We can only kid ourselves so much that we are completely and fully independent. For we are interconnected flowing organisms that are governed by the moon, the stars, the planets, gravity, the seasons, all of nature, each others energy and more. I like to sit with this mystery and surrender to it when I feel like I have no idea what’s going on, which let’s face it, has happened pretty constantly this year. I hand over my overthinking, and desire to know and control to the Universe, and ask for more flow and surrender. Being a human being is full of contradictions, isn’t it?
How we can surrender and yet also engage in decisive action.
How we can love and leave someone at the same time.
How we can be strong and yet gently simultaneously.
How we can be energised and yet rested.
How we loving and also set a boundary.
I feel the more we understand on deeper cosmic levels that being human is full of a stream of contradictions and dichotomies – the more we can enjoy the mystery of our lives, and dive in and swim with the currents, rather than quietly panicking the whole time. This is to be in flow with the Tao, the nameless thing that surrounds us, and is of us.
Sent with love,
