We don’t need to wait until we feel better about ourselves to start meditating. Or wait until we are in better shape to hit the gym. Or eat better once we have lost some weight. It sounds silly when we put it in writing. But we all do a version of this all the time. We put off our own happiness, until the ‘time is right’.
If you meditate 10 minutes a day, it’s 70 minutes more a week than not meditating at all.
If you eat well only once a day, it’s 30% better than eating poorly all the time.
If you do a gratitude exercise once a week, it’s 52x more a year than none at all.
If you give $5 a week to a charity you love, it’s $260 a year. If you give $3 a week to someone homeless, it’s $156 a year to help someone in need.
If you exercise 3 short 30-minute sessions a week, it’s 78 hours a year more than no hours a year.
Just start the path, because it’s only once you’re on it that you can see where it takes you.
