Have you lately been recognising that you have lost your wild? Have you felt a little caged, either from within your home, or perhaps even your mind? Has being kept in one spot, brought to your attention that perhaps you lost a little of your essence in the modern world of busyness? Within this have you also ‘returned to base’, and reassessed and had precious, beautiful time in which to rediscover or discover parts of your creativity that had laid dormant?
What are you doing now instead of commuting? Instead of driving the kids to all the afternoon activities? I read Google globally won’t be returning to their offices until July 2021. Of course the staff are still working, but I ponder, will the offices remain closed for 12 months, like corporate graveyards or will they be let go? Will people decide they don’t want to get the tube and subway anymore, or the trains and the buses and the parking tickets? Or after all this time will they be climbing the walls desperate to return to giant spaces with all the snacks and coffee machine and hubbub? No one can know just yet…
I keep hearing splendid stories of people writing again, hiking, painting, baking SO much banana bread, sourdough bread, planting herbs, sculpting, making. Things that were always desired, but perhaps not prioritised. I love hearing from people that they had no idea how much they loved cooking. Their surprise at discovering they can actually fix things in their own home and are far more handy than they thought.
We are entering a new way of living, its still being sketched out as the days pass, but it’s exciting, it’s thrilling and it’s filled with possibility, so let’s all stay open to it.
Written with a fast beating heart,
Jac x
