I wonder how many of us are walking around feeling like we have a secret. In an age where social media and constant comparisons are everywhere, I’m sure most of us are dealing with our own version of ‘Imposter Syndrome’. Imposter syndrome is where you are walking the walk and talking the talk but the whole time feeling out of place and constantly on the verge of being found out. It is the belief that you are not good enough, wrong, or in some way failing. But its an insidious one, its not simply fear of failing but that your failing and getting away with it. Guilt over load!

This is a sign that we are struggling with low self esteem. The good news it that your feelings, whilst being valid, are not always based in truth. I talk a lot about this in our Integrated Meditation course.

If this is something you can relate to, there are some tips to pull yourself out of it. Firstly, Meditate daily! Its the fastest way I know to build a solid foundation. Then ask yourself a series of questions, am I really a fraud?… Probably not, you work hard to hold the position you have in your family, career, etc etc.. keep asking till you get to the bottom of the emotion behind it. Chances are you’re actually feeling tired, overwhelmed, burnt out, once you know this you can manage it from an empowered place. Also talking about it with those closest helps us to realise we are all harbouring out own versions of this.
