Are you waking up and first thing in the morning checking your phone? Or are you creating sacred space in which to navigate the day? Are you diving into emails and news columns and social media or are you meditating, stretching your body, and priming yourself for a day of creativity and clarity? Are your mornings polluted or are they crisp and sparkling with presence?
Power Down Hour I have discussed a lot in the past, and I invite you to really buckle down on it now. An hour on waking and an hour before bed, NO TECHNOLOGY. Is it sometimes hard? Yes. Are the rewards otherworldly? Does going tech free in these two periods make you wonder what the hell you were thinking before? Yes? Does your clarity, creativity, productivity and consciousness expand enormously? Yes.
Ask yourself where you are carving out space just to be as a human being without filling yourself from the outside world in. Question how can you be more present instead of pissed off at politicians first thing and last thing in your day? How can you be more spacious instead of spaced out? More cognitive instead of conking out your brain is so tired?
Whilst your at it, also edit the content of your information. Marie Kondo your information intake – does it spark joy? If it doesn’t and is making you feel worse, pause it for as long as you need to in order to gain some stability back into your mind and heart.
