Isn’t it an amazing time? In the thick of all the awfulness – all the paradigms and societal beliefs we held, are being stripped back. The house of cards realities that we held onto, are falling, and fast. And it’s an opportunity to truly re-wire our thinking. I loved that my three hat chef uncle, until a few years ago didn’t have a mobile phone, or an email, he said if you needed to get a hold of him, he was in the kitchen, if he wasn’t in the kitchen, he probably didn’t want to see you anyway and was surfing or relaxing. It goes against our commonly held belief that in order to be successful you have to be always on, always available. Same goes with Rick Rubin. He reasons anyone that needs to see him will find a way. And he’s ALWAYS been like this. This isn’t a new strategy now that he’s one of the worlds most successful music producers. It was always his strategy, which has also probably helped him BECOME one of the worlds best music producers. He’s also a meditator from the same lineage that I teach from, and is deeply into his practice and has been for decades as a path to his creativity. He’s also a big burly bearded dude that looks like a trucker and has worked with Metallica, Slayer, Slip Knot and Johnny Cash. So not one’s immediate vision of a meditator, which I also LOVE. Breaking apart nonsense paradigms is everything, especially right now.
So with this in mind, I thought I would share with you some interesting thinkers I have encountered and loved – that in this time might be helpful for you. Click on the link to listen or read.
