I don’t walk around Hyde Park telling the squirrels to slow down and the swans to speed up. I don’t get frustrated with the clouds for their presence, nor do I kick leaves resentfully for being on the ground. I doubt you do either. We seem to be able to accept all forms of nature moving at their own pace …except for humans.
Them, we want to change for us all the time. We are desperate to meddle, get easily frustrated and think we know best.
Apply this thinking and try to tell an oak tree it’s kidding itself and shouldn’t be growing like that. Or shaking a dog for barking at noises or chasing a cat. Or telling a bird, babe don’t eat seeds like that, you need to eat seeds like THIS.
I mean it’s utterly ludicrous, isn’t it? Once we can see the insanity, and hopefully the humor, we can stop meddling with humans going at their perfectly natural pace, including ourselves.
