A huge part of any creative process is moving through obstacles. One of my interior architecture mentors used to say to me, you throw in all your ideas into virtual sieve, and then keep shaking it all around until what’s not relevant or really works falls through, leaving you with just the gold at the end. This process is one about working with obstacles as really, an obstacle is just something you didn’t see coming, or you saw working another way. Once you begin to work with it, rather than against it, you can see if it’s meant to stay, or meant to go.
When our intention is to play with the obstacles, to work with rather than run from, obstacles are actually just brilliant teachers. I see it that the universe is going to put down all sorts of obstacles, some to test how serious we are, some to divert us away from a direction that won’t serve us. Working out which is which is all part of the journey.
