So back to this idea of the Reward System. (you can read the previous Letter on Resistance and Flow in our JOURNAL. A lot of the time we think life isn’t going the way I want, so I’ve done something bad now I’m being punished. But also then I did something good. So where’s my reward? It’s in incorrect view on how the whole system works! It’s a paradigm through most of us in the West, but particularly in modern times need to work through. I mean, wouldn’t life be easy if that was the case, we’d all be so good! Getting all those rewards hahaha! But it’s this idea there’s no good or bad and there’s no reward and punishment system, and it’s all there for us to actually work through what we need to work through. It’s actually this beautiful curation of life just for us, to work through our stuff. This is where flow steps in, because we’re going with what’s happening as opposed to resisting what’s happening.
Danielle LaPorte says it beautifully, “Going with the flow is responding to the cues from the universe. When you go with the flow, you’re surfing life force. It’s about wakeful, trust and total collaboration with what’s showing up for you.” And one of my favorite ideas and concepts is this idea that we’re in constant collaboration with the universe. Why resist it? The universe is constantly saying, “Hey, I’m here with you. I am equal with you. I’m shoulder to shoulder with you. Stop trying to climb this invisible ladder. Keep two feet on the ground where I am, where we are together.”
So when we’re collaborating with the universe, it’s like, “Oh, okay, this is the latest project. Let’s go. This is the latest thing. Absolutely let’s do it.” And our resistance, the amount that we suffer is in exact proportion to the amount that we resist.
This was part of our teachings in The DOJO this month, on Resistance and Flow, and I wanted to share some parts of it over a series of Letters. You can sign up The DOJO as an Orange Belt and access all the past recordings as well as attend live each month and as a Black Belt also receive one on one mentoring too!
Written with love,
