Something Arran and I are really committed to is not pretending we always have it right, or know all the answers. It’s insanity to think one person could have anything near most of the answers let alone all of them! I have learnt so much from him over the years, watching how he releases himself from the weight of his ego, by with an open heart and an open mind, admitting with grace he got something wrong. I have seen him refund clients with a smile admitting he didn’t achieve what he wanted. I have seen him contentedly say he misread a situation or person. It has taken me years and years to refine this skill myself, I was prone to defensiveness and used to see being wrong as a fault. And for me it’s a work in progress, peeling back all the layers to be present to what’s really going on, why the need is there to be ‘right’ anyway. Because it blocks all creativity, and defensiveness blocks all curiosity. So we must get clear on what we want, for we can’t have it all. Let’s choose curiosity and an open heart.
