When we are over engaging with social media or technology in general, it can have the opposite of our original intention – which is usually connection and inspiration. So taking a big picture view then narrowing into what’s important to us, and how we can engage in a better way is a creative and insightful approach.
Take a big picture view of why you are on social media and technology (youtube/emails/pinterest/news apps/all your apps etc etc). Is your intention behind why you are engaging with it, actually delivering? I use social media for example to create, connect and be inspired, and, frankly to laugh at memes. The reality is that this happens when I am strictly following those that deliver just that. When I head down a wormhole however into a celebrities page, or reading comments flabbergasted, I have moved from that intention into a different space entirely. Doing a big social media cleanse of who you follow and why, gets you really clear on what you’re inviting in to your emotional landscape. And being vigilant not to get lost in the other worlds on social media, can be hard, but is important.
With love,
