Before I left for India, I sat with my friend and student, Uyen, in Whale Beach drinking tea and we discussed the teachings of St Francis of Assisi, and some of my teachers of Indian lineage, from America and Japan. They all teach the same thing; that there is one consciousness/God, that we must live with integrity, be of service, and love everyone, be true to our hearts. And we pondered the idea of what it might mean, what it might look like to let go of ALL the paradigms, beliefs and BS that don’t align with the truth that we know ourselves to be, and continually forget. I mean seriously, take a minute, put this down and imagine what you would BE, and what your life would look like
We sat there in quiet together for a short moment, because the concept really is kind of mindblowing. Now it doesn’t mean giving up our jobs and families and living by a river meditating all day. It means dropping all the nonsense that we tell ourselves, continually about what is and isn’t possible, and what kind of good and bad people we are, and everyone else is, and all the
When we surrender instead, fully, to the heart, all that ego stuff goes quiet. It gives us the space to truly be.
So what if we did that all the time? We could still get on with our days, tend to our responsibilities, but from a place of love, instead of the ego. What would it look like if you started a little bit today and turned up the volume everyday?
